I believe everyone has a story of struggle or heartache in their life.
It is especially during these times that we need strength beyond our own to keep getting up in the morning. I know I did.
I would cry out to God even though at the time I was unsure whether He would hear me. He did and I know He will hear your prayers as well.
He knows the cry of your heart He just wants to hear it from you.
MY STORY IN BRIEF...
In 1989, after the death of my child I experienced the absolute lowest point in my life.
At the time, I was 28 years old, happily married and living in a new home with two beautiful, healthy, young children. The pain of grief pierced my heart and I wanted to die too.
I kept a journal exposing and off loading my deepest emotions of grief and little did I know then that it would be significant in my healing.
If you would like to read my journal and know that the emotions you are experiencing are similar to other parents who have suffered the death of their child.

Through reading my story I hope it will help you live through yours. There may be things that I did that will give you ideas for you can move on. My journal will show you how God worked through my prayers and that he will work through yours too.
You can feel the weight of grief lighten as you write your thoughts in a journal and you can feel the weight of your dispair lighten as you write letters of prayer in a book. Experience the peace as you read back over your entries and see how God has answered your prayers.
Below are some prayers that I used when grief weighed heavy on my heart.
God will hear your prayer, therefore live everyday in the belief that your prayer is answered.
“ask and you shall receive” Luke 11:9
The prayers below can be said out aloud or to yourself when you are driving a car or kneeling in despair. It doesn't matter how or when...
- Dear Lord,
I need you to walk with me today while I am fragile and my wound of grief is deep.
- Dear God,
Help me to make sense of what has happened in my life. Show me how to live and enjoy life again.
- Dear Father in Heaven,
Help me to forgive…………………………….and move on with my life.
- Dear Lord,
I feel sad and lonely today, please bring someone across my path to comfort and support me and fill my emptiness.
- Dear God,
The question why ……………….died, I know I can never answer while I am here on earth but please help me to live with strength and purpose again.
- Dear Father,
………………. is with you now, please take care of them while I can’t.
- Dear God,
I ask that you hold off on allowing me to experience more pain and give me time to get back into life.
- Dear Lord,
My mind is so confused with thoughts today; please give me clarity to make the decisions that I have to make.
If you would like to know Jesus as your 'author and finisher of life' and have Him walk with you daily, pray this prayer now and accept Him into your heart and life.
Dear God,
I know I have sinned and I am sorry, please forgive me. Thank you for giving me your son Jesus, who died on the cross for my sins. I lay my life down and want to ask Jesus into my heart so that I may follow His lead and feel His peace. I thankyou and receive your gift of Jesus today. I will get to know Him through prayer and reading the bible and I will live by His example. Amen.
